The Association of Parents for Children the Hardest Physical Disabled Persons and Children with Special Needs «Angels» is independent association and as that kind exists since the 08th of July, year 2005. Until then members (of today independent The Association) were functioning through The Club of Parents for the Children the Hardest Physical Disabled Persons under The Association of Persons with Disabilities - Split.

Idea of establishing The Association became from the facts that nobody cared for children with the hardest physical disabilities (completely inert children) except their families, and that children are completely “cut off” from the society.

The basic point of functioning The Association is manifest through several basic goals and their total purpose of promotion of activities for improving quality of living children – the hardest physical disabled persons, and children with special needs in whole Split-Dalmatian area.

 Users included with the activities of The Association are children – the hardest disabled persons and children with special needs, regardless of the history of illness  and diagnosis.

All actions and our whole work is publicly presented through the media; television, newspapers and radio stations, and The Association has got media sponsorship of the newspapers called Slobodna Dalmacija and 24 Sata.

  Projects are signing on of The Ministries contests, contests of Town Split and area of Split - Dalmatia. Some of them are financed from this    founds, and other donation funds from Split companies are also necessary for conduction of programs of The Association. The most important is volunteer work of physical therapists, arts, students, parents and others who help with their volunteer scientific work in development of children with special needs.

Basic programs orientation of The Association is that in comprehensive and unbreakable action and activities of officials and bodies of The Association, generates sustained care and full care for children- the hardest physical disabled persons and children with special needs, and members of their families, as one of the basic reason of exist.

We organize and help children – the hardest physical disabled persons and children with special needs.

We inform parents, members of family or caretakers about rights and possibilities of healing, rehabilitation, and about social and juridical care.

We help and solve concrete problems. We encourage informing about life possibilities and we research about misfits  of the surroundings and people who directly influence on a life quality of a children with the hardest physical disabilities  and children with special needs.

We are trying to gather educated, active and motivated parents and those who want to become like that regardless of the diagnosis and age of a child. The role of parents is crucial and habilitation of their children is in changing of preconception of social environment to persons with special needs for improvement of quality of life in all areas.

We inform all institutions which are involved in any way for our work on written way about our mission and about purpose of acting of The Association, and that is how we turn them in our work. We go about all the health institutions, “ambulance houses”, “houses of health”…, we talk with competent doctors and assistances, and through the media we sensitization the      public.

Children – the hardest disabled persons are mostly hidden in houses, so that we get the biggest number of information from friends, neighbors and relatives, and after talk with parent or caretaker we get complete picture of a child.
We don't have a lot of children such as these, but they did not have integration anywhere, they don't attend nurseries or schools, so it is difficult to find them.
We work on their register so that we could get individual (for each child) detail description of condition of a child, and their needs, including generated rights of a child that are given by now. On that way we get possibility to instruct parents and country on mistakes.

Children with special needs are also being in dangerous because parents are not in due time informed about possibilities of rehabilitation and about rights that they can accomplish. They can not integrate their children in nurseries and schools because they are overbooked, and they can not have therapies for their children. Parents and caretakers are underprivileged for important information so that a child could have habilitation and be able for maximum of their possibilities. We are trying to initiate different rehabilitation, educational and informational activities for children, parents and public, ANGELS are trying to form new approach to persons with special needs. That approach is based on respecting human dignity of each man and in recognition of potential and similarities before and after difficulties.

In the shape of The Association space (rooms) we organized physical therapy, working therapy, swimming by the Halliwick method on the pool, logopeadia treatments for children, and also we give directions on other sorts of rehabilitation and free activities out of The Association. All therapies are maintained by the principle "brothers and sisters” – on each therapy it is necessary and they can involve their brother or sister. We also gather even parents in groups so that they could exchange information.
